Hunger can affect anyone, and it may be closer to home than you think.  According to Food Banks Canada, in March of 2016 more than 850,000 people received food from a food bank in Canada and 36% of them were children or youth.  In fact, almost 70% of people who are forced to choose between food and rent are paying market level rent. Yes, rent!  So that’s people like me, like you.  These are our coworkers, our neighbours, our classmates, our family and our friends.  So needless to say, when @WalmartCanada asked for help in spreading awareness about their fight against hunger, we said yes without hesitation. “Fight Hunger Spark Change”, running until May 2nd, aims to raise funds to provide 10 million meals to Canadian families in need through Food Banks Canada and its network of more than 550 food banks.  Little Kensington was very happy to help Mummy select non-perishable items for us to add to the donation bin at the front of the store. And that’s just one way that you can help.  You can also join the fight against hunger with Walmart, its vendor partners and Food Banks Canada by purchasing participating products from brands that will donate a portion of their proceeds to Food Banks Canada.
