As a woman of colour, finding the perfect foundation shade has always been a struggle. Take a look at some of my old Facebook or (God forbid) Myspace photos and you will see exactly what I’m talking about. Growing up, most foundations came in 6 or 7 shades (variations of light, medium and their definition of “dark”) and no matter how hard I tried, I was never able to find an exact match. For that reason, I stopped wearing foundation all together.
Last week, @Lancomeofficial invited me to create my own custom foundation (“Le Teint Particulier”) and if I’m going to be honest, I was a bit skeptical (given my past experiences), but despite that, I decided to give foundation another go.
I met with a Lancôme beauty expert, she scanned my skin tone and next, a mix of pigments were blended in a dispensing unit to reflect what I and (now you) see in the mirror. I was completely blown away. They got it exactly right. I was also given a bottle customized with my name and shade number on it (there are 72,000 possible shades). If you are looking for a perfect match, I would highly recommend Lancôme’s Le Teint Particulier custom foundation. Have any questions?
